Honors and Awards

Robert J. Fasulo Leadership Award
In June of 2011, our Chapter announced the first Annual Community Leadership Award, called The Robert J. Fasulo Leadership Award to honor our immediate Past President, Bob Fasulo.

Why we did it
That's an easy answer! Bob lead this community for almost a decade with great leadership skills. To let that go without any tribute to its leader just wasn't going to happen! When we think of the endless hours that Bob and his family contributed to this community and the dedication he gave to support our local Soldiers, there was really no option but to dedicate an award on his behalf. The message he taught, if I had to sum it up in a sentence, would be .The Soldier comes first, period. Everything this Chapter has done throughout his leadership has been about the Soldier. Every program, every dollar spent, every event revolved around giving it all back to the Soldier.

What it means
This award means that an individual or group would be recognized at putting the needs of our local heroes first. There are many of us that do things for recognition but few that do it because it is "the right thing to do". Bob always led us to "do the right thing". We would like to recognize those that have the instinct to know "the right thing to do".
